The actor, who had appeared in iconic films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and popular TV serials such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, suffered a fatal heart attack while he was asleep on Saturday night. Vikas was in Nashik with his wife, Janhavi Sethi, attending a family function when the incident occurred. Janhavi revealed that Vikas had been feeling unwell during their stay in Nashik. He experienced vomiting and loose motions, but despite his deteriorating condition, Vikas resisted going to the hospital. Instead, they called a doctor to their home in Nashik.
In an emotional conversation with a news agency, Janhavi recounted the tragic moment, “We were staying at my mother’s house in Nashik when Vikas started feeling sick. He didn’t want to go to the hospital, so we arranged for a doctor to visit us. Unfortunately, when I tried to wake him up around 6 am on Sunday, he had already passed away.” The local doctors confirmed that Vikas had suffered a heart attack in his sleep.
Vikas Sethi’s body was transported to Mumbai, where a post-mortem was conducted at Cooper Hospital. His funeral took place on Monday, and his cremation was carried out according to Hindu rituals. The funeral was attended by close friends and colleagues from the industry, including actors Hiten Tejwani and Sharad Kelkar. The scene was deeply emotional, especially when Vikas’s mother broke down upon seeing her son for the last time.
Vikas Sethi had a successful career in the television industry, gaining recognition through his roles in Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Sasural Simar Ka, and Yeh Vaada Raha. He also participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye Season 4 alongside his first wife, Amita. However, the couple later divorced. In 2018, Vikas found love again and married Janhavi Sethi.
