Bollywood star Salman Khan’s security has been further increased following the recent murder of his close friend Baba Siddique and continued threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Salman, who already had Y+ security since April, now has an additional layer of protection due to heightened concerns for his safety. The Mumbai Police has ramped up security, with new protocols being introduced to ensure his safety, especially during his film shoots and public appearances.
Increased Security Amid Ongoing Threats
Salman Khan’s security has been a growing concern, particularly after the attack on his residence at Galaxy Apartments earlier this year. The Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for that attack, and Salman has since been moving in a bulletproof vehicle. However, the murder of his close associate, Baba Siddiqui, has escalated the situation, leading to further security enhancements.
The Mumbai Police has now added a new security layer around the actor. A specially trained constable will accompany Salman at all times. This officer is proficient in handling multiple types of weapons and will work closely with Salman’s private bodyguard Shera and the actor’s personal security team.
Strict Monitoring at Shooting Locations
In addition to the added personnel, police presence will be heightened at all locations where Salman is scheduled to work or shoot. Before Salman arrives at any set or location, the local police station will be informed in advance, and officers will be deployed to ensure the area is safe.
This includes Salman’s farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra, where additional security personnel have been stationed. The police have also set up blockades along the route leading to the farmhouse, thoroughly checking every vehicle passing through the area. This is a critical step, given the foiled assassination attempt earlier this year where the Bishnoi gang had planned to target Salman near his farmhouse with heavy firearms.
Multiple Threats from Bishnoi Gang
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been a persistent threat to Salman Khan for several years. The group has issued multiple threats against the actor, citing various personal vendettas. Following the murder of Baba Siddiqui, the gang claimed responsibility and suggested that his close association with Salman Khan was a key factor behind the killing.
With the gang’s name linked to several criminal activities, the authorities are taking every threat against the actor seriously. Salman’s team and the police are in constant coordination to mitigate the risks and ensure the star’s safety.
Tight Security During ‘Bigg Boss 18’ Shoot
Salman Khan is currently hosting the popular reality show Bigg Boss 18. In light of the recent threats, the security measures around the show’s shooting locations have also been strengthened. Whenever Salman is scheduled to shoot the “Weekend Ka Vaar” episodes, a police team will be stationed at the site ahead of time to secure the premises.
A source from the police department stated that a large force will always accompany Salman during the show’s filming, especially in light of the latest threats. Despite these challenges, Salman’s shooting schedule for Bigg Boss remains unchanged, and he continues to work on the show as planned.
Rescheduling of ‘Sikander’ Shoot
Apart from Bigg Boss, Salman was also working on his next film ‘Sikander’. However, due to the increased security concerns, the production team has decided to re-plan the next shooting schedule. They are taking precautions to ensure that Salman’s security is prioritized at all times during the film’s production.
The police continue to investigate the murder of Baba Siddique and the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. So far, four suspects, including the shooters and conspirators, have been arrested.
