Kartik Aaryan is all set to return as Rooh Baba in the much-awaited Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and the audience can’t wait to see him back in his quirky and spooky avatar. This time, Rooh Baba faces not one but two Manjulikas, which adds a new twist to the storyline. As the release date draws near, Kartik Aaryan, in an exclusive conversation with NewsNCR Hindi Digital, opened up about his experience shooting the film, how he feels about the clash with Singham Again, and the feedback he gets from his biggest critic — his mother.
Confident But Nervous About ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’
When asked about his feelings before the release, Kartik expressed a mix of confidence and nervousness. He shared that while he feels good about the film, especially after the positive response to the teaser, trailer, and songs, the final judgment will come from the audience. “We are confident about the content, but until the viewers watch it, nothing is certain. With just days left for the release, I’m both nervous and excited,” said Kartik.
Challenges of Playing Rooh Baba Again
Kartik’s return as Rooh Baba brings with it the challenge of balancing familiarity with novelty. While the audience already loves the character from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik explained how it’s important to bring something fresh to the role without losing the essence of what made Rooh Baba so popular. He shared, “The challenge is to show new aspects of the character while maintaining the old charm so that the audience doesn’t get bored. We’ve tried experimenting with new elements this time.”
He also hinted at how they have added fresh twists to the dance sequences and title track, ensuring that it doesn’t feel repetitive from the previous film.
The Famous Hook Step Legacy
Kartik Aaryan’s hook steps in songs like “Coca Cola” and “Dheeme Dheeme” have become a hit with fans. Now, with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the actor hopes his new dance steps will also gain similar popularity. Kartik humbly credits his choreography team for the success of these hook steps but admits that he enjoys performing them. “People still love my old steps, and I hope they continue to love the new ones too,” said Kartik with a smile.
When asked if he feels part of the “Hook Step Legacy” alongside stars like Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan, Kartik laughed and said he’s grateful for the recognition but believes the credit belongs to the entire team.
Kartik’s Mother: His Most Honest Critic
Kartik’s mother has made a few appearances on TV shows, and fans love her candid personality. Kartik revealed that his mother watches his films like any regular audience member, and she’s not afraid to give him her honest opinion. “She has no filter. She says whatever comes to her mind,” Kartik chuckled.
But his mother is also a tough critic. Kartik shared that after watching his films, she often points out scenes she didn’t like, and this leads to a long conversation between them. “She’s strict with her feedback, but I don’t take it easily. I ask her why she didn’t like it, and we discuss it,” he said.
Clash with ‘Singham Again’
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will hit the screens around the same time as Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn. When asked how he feels about this clash, Kartik acknowledged the scale of Singham Again but remained positive. “Yes, Singham Again is a big film. But we’re lucky to have a big weekend. On such occasions, people go to theatres and watch multiple films. I believe both films will do well, and I hope our film makes it to their list too,” Kartik said optimistically.
The clash of two big films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again may raise excitement among fans, but Kartik believes the audience will find time for both, given the festive season and extended weekend.
In his conversation, Kartik Aaryan came across as confident yet grounded, with a deep understanding of his audience’s expectations. His excitement for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is evident, and despite the competition with a big movie like Singham Again, Kartik remains hopeful and focused on giving his fans an entertaining experience.
