In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested seven members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in connection with several high-profile incidents, including the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. While the gang’s association with various criminal acts is well known, the latest development unveils a surprising new target—not Bollywood’s Salman Khan, but the nephew of a prominent political figure. This information has raised concerns about the escalating activities of the Bishnoi gang and the potential political repercussions.
Seven Shooters Arrested Across Four States
The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested seven individuals connected to the Bishnoi gang, capturing them from various states, including Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi. The group was allegedly involved in multiple serious offenses, including extortion and planned assassinations. The gang, reportedly led by Arzoo Bishnoi on behalf of Lawrence Bishnoi, was about to carry out more violent acts in Haryana and Rajasthan, according to the police.
Among those apprehended was Sukhram, a central gang member, who was caught on October 23 from Kamla Nagar. His arrest was soon followed by that of Sahil and Amol. In a series of follow-up arrests, police detained Ritesh, Pramod, Sandeep, and Badal, who were reportedly in possession of six automatic pistols, 24 live cartridges, a stolen vehicle, a motorcycle, and a GPS tracker device. These tools were used to trail and monitor their targets in preparation for attacks.
Gang’s Methods and Network Under Investigation
The Special Cell revealed that this group relied on GPS tracking devices to follow their targets and operate in isolated areas, avoiding crowds and witnesses. Their next intended target was Sunil Pehalwan, nephew of Rajkumar Garg, a former MLA in Ganganagar. Ritesh, a gang member from Bihar, was allegedly conducting reconnaissance in the area to prepare for the attack.
Arzoo Bishnoi, a prominent gang member and leader of this module, remains absconding. Allegedly, Arzoo followed the directives of Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, and coordinated the gang’s recent operations. Police have intensified efforts to capture him and prevent further criminal activity.
NIA Involvement and Reward for Anmol Bishnoi’s Capture
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been closely monitoring the Bishnoi gang’s activities. Anmol Bishnoi, in particular, is under scrutiny following his alleged involvement in the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence last year. His name has been added to the NIA’s most-wanted list, and authorities have issued a lookout circular in April, offering a ₹10 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
Background: Lawrence Bishnoi’s Rise and Threats
Lawrence Bishnoi, the primary leader of the Bishnoi gang, is currently imprisoned in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat, but his influence continues to grow across states. The gang first caught nationwide attention for its connection to the killing of Sidhu Moosewala, a case that shocked both Punjab and the broader entertainment community. Despite being behind bars, Bishnoi allegedly commands significant control over his network and continues to be involved in coordinating high-stakes operations through loyal followers.
Impact on Security and Political Circles
The revelation that a politician’s family member was targeted by the Bishnoi gang has intensified security concerns, especially as the gang appears to have moved its focus from celebrity threats to political figures. Security agencies are now working to dismantle the gang’s reach and contain its influence over criminal networks across northern India.
With arrests underway and investigations ongoing, authorities hope to curb the gang’s expansion and bring its leaders to justice. However, the unfolding events underscore the complexity of organized crime and the need for vigilance to safeguard public figures and their families.
