The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2024 celebrated the best in Indian cinema, honoring films, actors, and creators from across the industry. The festival, which began on August 15 and runs until August 25, saw numerous stars in attendance, including Kartik Aaryan, Imtiaz Ali, Karan Johar, Kabir Khan, and Shoojit Sircar.
Major Awards
At IFFM 2024, Kartik Aaryan took home the Best Actor award for his powerful performance in Chandu Champion. Vikrant Massey-starrer 12th Fail won the coveted Best Film award, while the Critics’ Choice Best Film award went to Kiran Rao’s Laapata Ladies.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunky was recognized for its impactful storytelling, winning the Award for Equality in Cinema. Telugu star Ram Charan was honored for his contribution to Indian Art and Culture, and legendary composer AR Rahman won the award for Best Performance in Cinema.
