Early Life and Education
Vicky Kaushal belongs to a Punjabi Hindu family who have their ancestral roots in Hoshiarpur (Punjab). He was a regular child who was good at studying and had a keen interest in playing cricket and watching movies. Since his father wanted him to have a stable career, he completed his engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications in 2009 from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology.
However, when he was pursuing his engineering course, he came to a realization that he had no interest in doing office jobs. He wanted to have a career in film, so he started taking acting classes at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s academy. Simultaneously, he used to work with several other groups like Manav Kaul’s Aranya and Naseeruddin Shah’s Motley Productions. He spent the next two years giving various types of auditions. Unfortunately, he did not get any good opportunities. In 2011, he made his first attempt at acting through a theatrical production named “Laal Pencil”.
