In a country where glamour and academics are often seen as separate worlds, Kashish Methwani is breaking every stereotype. The former Miss International India has proved that a modelling career and a defence dream can go hand in hand. Her journey from ramp walks to army boots has inspired millions of young Indians.
Recently, Kashish created headlines by securing All India Rank 2 in the CDS (Combined Defence Services) examination, a prestigious gateway to becoming an officer in the Indian Armed Forces. Her story shows that with determination and discipline, nothing is impossible.
Scholar with a Sharp Mind
Kashish was always a bright student. She completed her MSc in Neuroscience from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, one of the top research institutes in the country. Her research on gamma brain waves impressed experts so much that she received a PhD offer from Harvard University.
But instead of continuing her academic journey abroad, she made a bold and patriotic choice — she rejected Harvard’s offer to join the Indian Army. Today, she is undergoing training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai to become a commissioned officer.
A Crowned Miss International India
Before her academic and defence achievements, Kashish had already made a mark in the modelling world. She won the prestigious title of Miss International India, representing beauty, grace, and confidence on national platforms.
Yet, Kashish never allowed glamour to overshadow her deeper goals. Her transition from beauty queen to defence aspirant shows that dreams can evolve — and that success comes in many forms.
NCC Cadet and Award Winner
Kashish’s connection with defence services started early. She was a dedicated NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadet and represented the Air Force wing. In 2021, she was honoured with the Best All India Cadet Award, personally presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
That moment, she recalls, was one of the proudest of her life — and it pushed her further towards the dream of serving the nation in uniform.
A True All-Rounder
Kashish is not just about books and medals. She is a national-level pistol shooter, a basketball player, a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, and can also play the tabla. Her multi-talented personality makes her a complete role model for India’s youth.
In her own words, the values of discipline and leadership she learned in NCC, along with the constant support from her family, played the biggest role in her journey.
A Role Model for Every Young Indian
Kashish Methwani’s story is a perfect mix of brains, beauty, and bravery. She is proof that Indian girls can dream beyond limits — whether it’s becoming a scientist, winning a beauty pageant, or wearing the uniform of the Indian Army.
Her achievements are not just personal milestones but a powerful message to every student, every young girl, and every dreamer: You can do it all — if you believe in yourself.
