Bollywood actor Ajaz Khan is once again under scrutiny after a recent raid by the Customs Department on his office in Mumbai. The raid, which took place on October 8, 2024, has linked the actor to a fresh drug case. This comes after his release on bail in a similar case in 2023. The raid followed a track of a suspicious consignment, reportedly ordered from a European country, that was traced directly to Ajaz Khan’s office.
Staff Member Arrested in Drug Case
During the raid, the Customs Department arrested a staff member of Ajaz Khan under the NDPC Act. The arrested individual has been identified as Suraj Gaur, who allegedly placed an order for approximately 100 grams of MD (Mephedrone). The consignment’s market value is estimated to be around Rs 35 lakh. Suraj was reportedly present at the actor’s office when the authorities conducted the operation.
Drugs Sourced from Europe
The investigation revealed that the drugs were ordered from a European country and were to be delivered to the rented property where Ajaz Khan’s office is located. This isn’t the first time Khan has been entangled in such controversies. Gaur informed the authorities that he and Khan first met during their time in Arthur Road jail.
Ajaz Khan’s Troubled Past
Ajaz Khan has had multiple run-ins with the law concerning drug-related issues. In 2021, he was arrested at Mumbai Airport in a drug case, later securing bail in 2023. He was also arrested in 2018 by the Navi Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell for possession of ecstasy tablets. Despite his legal troubles, Ajaz Khan attempted to enter politics earlier this year, contesting the Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate.
Court Appearance for the Arrested Staff Member
As per reports, Suraj Gaur has been presented in court on October 9, 2024, following his arrest. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited regarding the involvement of others in the case.
This latest incident brings fresh challenges for Ajaz Khan, who is no stranger to legal complications and controversies surrounding drug-related offenses.
