Kartik Aaryan, one of the rising stars in Bollywood, has a busy schedule with the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 just around the corner. Known for his versatility, Kartik opens up about the challenges of breaking into the industry, comparisons with Akshay Kumar, and life under constant media attention. From early struggles to his experiences with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, Kartik shares personal insights in this exclusive interview.
“The Early Struggles Were Tough, But I Believed in Myself”
Kartik’s success today is the result of perseverance through tough times. Recalling his early years, he talks about the struggle of surviving in an industry where he had no connections.
“I had to go through endless rejections and auditions. I used to change clothes in malls and railway stations. It wasn’t easy to grab someone’s attention, especially when no one knew me. I kept believing that my time would come.”
The turning point came with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, but Kartik emphasizes that it took almost two and a half years of relentless effort before he got that breakthrough.
“Comparing Me to Akshay Kumar? I Am Still New Here”
Kartik’s portrayal of Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 earned him comparisons with Akshay Kumar, who starred in the original film. However, Kartik humbly deflects these comparisons.
“I’ve always been a fan of Akshay sir. His career spans decades, and he’s given so many iconic performances. I feel lucky to be part of the same franchise, but comparing me with him isn’t fair. I’m still new and have so much more to learn.”
Kartik adds that the comparisons are likely due to his role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa, but he focuses on carving his unique space in the industry.
“I Don’t Think About the Future; I Live in the Moment”
Despite the uncertainties of the film industry, Kartik tries not to dwell on what the future holds. He prefers to stay focused on his present projects.
“I give my best to every film. For example, I dedicated one and a half years to Chandu Champion. But a week after its release, I started working on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Success and failure don’t affect me for too long. After a week, I move on to the next project.”
Paparazzi Culture Feels Like the Bigg Boss House, But I’m Not Complaining
In today’s social media-driven world, Kartik is constantly under the public eye. However, he doesn’t mind the attention.
“It’s like being in the Bigg Boss house where every movement is captured. But I don’t complain. I came into this industry knowing that fame comes with its challenges. I always dreamed of seeing my posters everywhere, and now that it’s happening, I feel grateful.”
Kartik also shares that interacting with fans through selfies and pictures brings him joy.
“I love it when people ask for photos or articles about me. I wanted this life, and now that it’s here, I enjoy every moment of it.”
“A Film Not Working Is a Nightmare, But I Move On”
Like any actor, Kartik admits that the idea of a film failing at the box office is a scary thought. However, he tries to stay grounded.
“If a film doesn’t work, it feels bad because we put our heart and soul into it. But I try not to dwell on it for long. The industry is unpredictable, and one must quickly move on to the next project.”
Expectations Are High for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Kartik is excited about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which comes with the pressure of living up to the success of its predecessor. He explains that when Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released during the COVID-19 pandemic, no one expected it to perform so well.
“There were low expectations, but the film broke records and became a huge hit. Now, with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the expectations are much higher. It’s both exciting and challenging.”
Kartik describes the film as a perfect blend of comedy and horror, making it a fun watch for the entire family.
“A Clash with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again? There’s Space for Both Films”
The release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 coincides with Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited Singham Again. Despite the box office clash, Kartik remains optimistic.
“It’s a festive release, and there’s room for both films. Audiences love variety, and they can watch both if they want. In the end, everyone benefits.”
“Women Have Always Played an Important Role in My Life”
When asked about the women who have influenced him, Kartik talks warmly about his family and co-stars.
“In my personal life, my mom and sister have had a huge influence on me. My sister is younger, but she’s the more mature one between us. I used to boss her around when we were kids, but now she handles everything smartly.”
He also expresses his admiration for his co-stars, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri.
“Working with Madhuri ma’am was a dream come true. I’ve always been a fan of her dance. Watching her perform on set, even when I wasn’t in the scene, was inspiring. Vidya ji has a commanding presence, and she’s so easy to talk to off-screen. With Triptii, it was my first time working together, but our chemistry clicked instantly.”
