Salman Khan’s life is in danger due to threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, allegedly linked to the black buck hunting case. Salman’s close associate, Baba Siddiqui, was recently murdered, and Bishnoi’s gang is suspected to be behind the attack. In response, police have tightened Salman’s security to prevent any harm.
The origin of these threats dates back to the shooting of the 1999 family film Hum Saath Saath Hain, during which Salman became entangled in legal trouble.
Shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain Led to Legal Trouble
In 1998, Salman was in Jodhpur for the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya’s film Hum Saath Saath Hain. The movie starred several popular actors, including Tabu, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, and Mohnish Bahl. During the filming, Salman and a few co-stars were accused of hunting endangered chinkaras.
Three incidents were reported: two chinkaras were allegedly killed on the night of 26-27 September, and another was killed on 28 September. This incident led to multiple legal cases being filed against Salman and the other actors.
The Film’s Success Despite Controversy
Despite the controversy surrounding the black buck case, Hum Saath Saath Hain was released on 5 November 1999 and became a huge success. With a budget of ₹19 crores, the film earned over ₹80 crore at the box office, solidifying its place as a family favorite.
Legal Developments and Ongoing Threats
Salman’s legal troubles continued for years. The Jodhpur Sessions Court first sentenced him to five years in prison in April 2006, but the Rajasthan High Court suspended the sentence in 2013. However, in 2015, the Supreme Court overturned the High Court’s decision.
In 2018, the Jodhpur court found Salman guilty again, sentencing him to five years. The actor secured bail on April 7, 2018. In 2022, the Rajasthan High Court transferred all remaining cases to itself, ensuring all hearings are handled in one place.
As the legal battles continue, Salman Khan’s life remains under threat, and law enforcement is on high alert to safeguard him.
