Salman Khan’s 2015 blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which took the world by storm with its heartwarming storyline and stellar performances, could make a comeback in theatres. Director Kabir Khan recently hinted that the film might be re-released next year to mark its 10th anniversary. The movie, which grossed over ₹922 crore globally, still holds a special place in the hearts of audiences.
In an interaction at the IIFA Awards 2024, Kabir Khan was asked if he planned to bring the film back to theatres. In response, he shared that if there’s enough demand from fans, the re-release could happen. He said, “If people ask for it, and we feel the timing is right, we might bring ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ back to theatres.” The film was initially released on 17th July 2015 and became one of Salman Khan’s biggest hits.
Memories of Working with Salman Khan
Kabir Khan, who has worked with Salman Khan on multiple projects including the Tiger series and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, spoke fondly of his experience. When asked to share his favorite memory of working with the superstar, Kabir found it hard to pick just one. “I’ve worked with Salman in three films, and each one has been a special experience,” he said. The bond between the director and actor has resulted in films that audiences continue to love.
What’s Next for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2’?
Adding more excitement for fans, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is not just limited to its original run. Salman Khan himself confirmed in 2021 that a sequel is in the works. At an event promoting SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Salman had revealed that the second part of Bajrangi Bhaijaan would indeed be happening.
Producer KK Radhamohan also shared an update earlier this year, confirming that the script for the sequel is ready. Written by Vijayendra Prasad, the story is expected to be just as gripping as the first film. According to Radhamohan, Salman Khan will soon be hearing the final script and discussing further plans for the movie.
