Mumbai: After the recent public killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was close to Salman Khan, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has issued threats to Salman’s life. In response, the Mumbai Police has intensified the actor’s security, but in an unexpected turn, Somy Ali, Salman’s ex-girlfriend, has now come forward with an attempt to communicate with the gang leader.
Somy Ali Offers to Connect with Bishnoi via Zoom Call
Somy Ali, who dated Salman Khan in the 1990s, has posted an open message on social media addressed to Lawrence Bishnoi, currently jailed in Sabarmati. In her message, she expressed a desire to speak with Bishnoi over a Zoom call, seemingly hoping to de-escalate the situation. Somy, who now lives in the United States and works as a women’s rights activist, wrote:
“Hello Lawrence Bhai, I have heard you make Zoom calls from jail, and I wish to talk to you. Please tell me how we can connect. Our favorite place in the world is Rajasthan, and we wish to visit your temple for puja. But first, let us have a Zoom call and discuss a few things—it will benefit you. Please share your number; I’d appreciate it.”
Salman’s Apology on Somy’s Behalf
This isn’t the first time Somy Ali has spoken on behalf of Salman Khan regarding the tension with the Bishnoi community. In May 2024, she had addressed the community, acknowledging the 1998 hunting incident where Salman was involved in a blackbuck poaching case. While condemning hunting, she urged the Bishnoi community to forgive Salman, stating:
“Salman was young when the incident happened. I request the Bishnoi community to move on and forgive him. I apologize on his behalf for the mistake that occurred years ago.”
Bishnoi Gang’s Message Following Siddiqui’s Death
The situation escalated after the death of Baba Siddique, for which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. Through a Facebook post, the gang sent a chilling message, mentioning Salman Khan directly:
“We do not want war, and we have no personal enmity with Salman Khan. But those supporting Salman Khan and Dawood Ibrahim should settle their accounts carefully.”
The Mumbai Police have been on high alert following these developments, ensuring round-the-clock surveillance around Salman Khan’s residence and public appearances.
