Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, known for his iconic roles in Bollywood, recently opened up about his academic struggles on the popular TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 16’. The legendary actor, who graduated from Kirori Mal College in Delhi, shared his experience of studying science and the challenges he faced while pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.
Amitabh’s Struggles with Science
During the show, Amitabh candidly spoke about his decision to take up science without fully understanding what it entailed. He revealed that he made the choice to study science after performing well in the subject in school. However, it didn’t take long for him to realize that he had made a big mistake.
“I completed BSc without really knowing what it was about,” Amitabh confessed. “I applied for the course because I had scored good marks in science. But in the very first lecture, I realized that I had made a grave error.”
The First Lecture Shock
Amitabh recounted how his first lecture in college made him aware of the vast scope of science, something he hadn’t fully grasped before. “Whatever I had learned about science in the past 10 years was shattered in just 45 minutes during that lecture,” he said. The realization hit him hard, and it became clear that he was in for a tough academic journey.
Failing and Then Succeeding
Amitabh didn’t shy away from admitting that he initially failed in his BSc course. However, he didn’t give up. After a lot of effort and determination, he managed to pass the exams in his second attempt. “I failed the first time,” Amitabh shared, “but when I went back and answered the questions again, I barely passed with 42 percent marks.”
