Indian-Canadian singer and rapper AP Dhillon has assured his fans of his safety following a shocking shooting incident at his residence in Victoria Island, Vancouver, Canada. The attack, which took place yesterday, has been claimed by Rohit Godara, a member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The incident also involved another shooting in Woodbridge, Toronto, raising concerns about the safety of Punjabi artists in Canada.
AP Dhillon took to Instagram shortly after the incident, reassuring his followers that he and his loved ones were unharmed. In a heartfelt message, he said, “I am safe. My people are safe. Thanks to all those who contacted us. Your support means everything to us.” He also shared a video of himself singing a song, accompanied by a guitarist, with the caption, “Keep spreading love.”
The connection between the attack on AP Dhillon’s home and his recent collaboration with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has raised eyebrows. The Bishnoi gang, known for their threats against Salman Khan due to his involvement in the blackbuck poaching case, has now targeted AP Dhillon. Reports suggest that AP Dhillon’s recent project with Salman, a film titled Old Money, might have triggered the attack.
AP Dhillon, whose real name is Amritpal Singh Dhillon, is a popular figure in the Indian music scene, especially among the youth. Known for hit tracks like Brown Munde, Excuses, Summer High, and Insane, he has amassed over 3.5 million followers on Instagram and millions of views on YouTube.
This isn’t the first time the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has targeted Punjabi artists. Before AP Dhillon, the gang had attacked the home of singer Gippy Grewal in Vancouver’s White Rock neighborhood. The gang’s influence appears to be spreading, causing concern among artists and their fans alike.
Salman Khan himself has been the target of violence in the past. Earlier this year, on April 14, two men on a motorcycle opened fire at his home in Mumbai, causing damage but fortunately, no injuries. In response to the increased threats, security around Salman Khan has been significantly tightened.
The recent incidents highlight the growing threats faced by public figures linked to the Bishnoi gang. Despite these dangers, AP Dhillon remains resilient, focusing on his music and continuing to spread a message of love and positivity.
