A Bold Message Against Caste Discrimination
The Bhojpuri film ‘Lachminiya’ is making waves with its strong stance against casteism. Directed by Ritesh S Kumar, the film sheds light on the deeply rooted caste-based discrimination that still plagues Indian society. The director stated, “Sometimes our caste makes us ashamed,” pointing out the need for a change in mindset. ‘Lachminiya’ challenges these societal evils and holds up a mirror to those who continue to discriminate based on caste.
Exposing the Harsh Reality of Casteism
Sintu Singh Sagar, the lead actor, revealed that the film showcases how casteism affects every level of society. The narrative focuses on how people from lower castes face daily struggles and are often oppressed by the system. According to Sagar, “Our film shows how the worm of casteism affects the lives of those from lower castes.” Through ‘Lachminiya’, the filmmakers aim to inspire viewers to stand against these social injustices and push for equality.
