Yo Yo Honey Singh, the celebrated rapper known for his chart-topping hits, has addressed the long-standing rumor about an alleged incident with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. In a recent interview with Lallantop, Singh spoke out about the controversy that has followed him for years.
The Controversy
The rumor originated after Shahrukh Khan’s film Chennai Express, suggesting that Singh was slapped by Khan during a promotional tour. This rumor caused quite a stir in the media, fueling speculation about a fallout between the two celebrities.
Honey Singh’s Response
In the interview, Honey Singh clarified that the incident never happened. He stated, “There was no such incident. You’ll hear more about it in my upcoming documentary, where I address these rumors in detail.” Singh is referring to his Netflix documentary, Famous, which explores his life and career. According to Singh, Netflix has asked him to withhold details until the documentary’s release to maintain its impact.
PR Game or Misunderstanding?
Singh also discussed the possibility that the rumor was part of a PR strategy. He denied hiring a PR company or orchestrating any media stunts. “I never had a PR team. I was rarely seen in parties or events, and I lived outside Mumbai. The media often reported things without my clarification,” he explained. Singh admitted that he had sought a platform to share his side of the story but lacked the means to do so effectively at the time.
New Album and Collaborations
Honey Singh has recently made a comeback with his new album Glory, released on August 26. The album features collaborations with Pakistani artists Wahab Bugti and Sahiban. Bugti appears on the track ‘Biba’ alongside Italian singer Layong, while Sahiban joins Singh on ‘Rap God’ with Handles.
As Singh continues to promote Glory, he is also focused on setting the record straight and moving forward in his career. The rapper’s latest work highlights his ongoing influence in the music industry and his efforts to address past controversies.
