Heavy rains have caused devastating floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, disrupting lives and claiming at least 31 lives. In the wake of this tragedy, several celebrities and film industry professionals have stepped up to provide financial support for relief efforts. Among them, popular South Indian actor Jr NTR has made a generous contribution, donating ₹1 crore to aid the flood victims.
Jr NTR’s Generous Contribution
Jr NTR has donated ₹50 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, making a total of ₹1 crore. In his heartfelt message, the actor expressed his prayers for the victims and encouraged them to stay strong during these challenging times. His donation is a significant contribution towards relief efforts, which are being carried out by multiple agencies, including 26 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). So far, about 17,000 people have been rescued and moved to safer locations.
Support from the Film Industry
Jr NTR is not the only one from the film industry to show support. Actor Vishwak Sen has also donated ₹10 lakh to the relief funds of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The team behind the much-anticipated movie Kalki 2898 AD has contributed ₹25 lakh to assist with the ongoing relief efforts. The production house behind the film shared a heartfelt note on social media, expressing solidarity with the flood victims and encouraging others to contribute.
Flood Situation Worsens, Relief Efforts Intensify
The situation in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remains critical, with heavy rains continuing to create flood-like conditions. Train services have been disrupted, with waterlogging on railway tracks in Karnataka causing cancellations of several trains bound for Bihar. Tragically, a landslide in Mogalrajpuram, Andhra Pradesh, claimed the lives of five people, highlighting the dire need for continued support and assistance.
Government and Community Efforts
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced compensation of ₹5 lakh each for the families of those who lost their lives in the floods. Meanwhile, the contributions from Jr NTR, Vishwak Sen, and the Kalki 2898 AD team have inspired others in the community to extend their support, showcasing solidarity and compassion during these difficult times.
