The highly anticipated pre-release event of Jr NTR’s upcoming film Devara was cancelled just hours before it was set to begin, much to the disappointment of fans. The event, which was scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, had attracted a large number of people, and safety concerns forced the organizers to call it off. The film, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, has been generating immense excitement ever since its trailer dropped on 22nd September.
Overcrowding Leads to Event Cancellation
As the crowd swelled at the venue, the situation began to get out of control. The barricades set up to manage the crowd were broken due to the sheer number of people who showed up. This raised serious safety concerns, prompting the organizers to cancel the event to avoid any untoward incidents. Fans who had gathered at the event were understandably upset, having looked forward to seeing their favorite star, Jr NTR, in person.
Jr NTR Expresses His Disappointment
Following the cancellation, Jr NTR took to Instagram to address his fans. In a heartfelt video message, he expressed his deep disappointment over the event’s cancellation. Speaking in Telugu, the actor said, “I am as disappointed as all of you. I was eagerly waiting for this event, and I wanted to share many stories about Devara with you. I have worked very hard on this film and was excited to talk about my experience. However, due to safety reasons, the event had to be called off, and I am as hurt as all of you.”
Jr NTR also asked fans not to blame the producers or the organizers, explaining that the decision was made purely for the safety of everyone present.
Fans React on Social Media
Once the event was officially cancelled, many fans took to social media to express their frustration. Some even went as far as to blame the producers and organizers for the sudden cancellation. However, Jr NTR’s video message seemed to calm a lot of the anger, with many fans understanding that the decision was made for safety reasons.
Statement from the ‘Devara’ Team
In addition to Jr NTR’s message, the Devara team also released an official statement on their X (formerly Twitter) account. They explained that the event was originally planned to celebrate the hard work that went into making Devara, especially since it marks Jr NTR’s first solo release in six years. The statement also acknowledged the logistical challenges they faced, particularly since the event was scheduled so close to Ganesh Nimarjanam. Additionally, recent heavy rains in Hyderabad had also caused delays in preparations, further complicating the situation.
The statement read, “We were looking forward to celebrating this day with you all. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, including safety concerns and weather-related issues, we had no choice but to cancel the pre-release event. We hope to make it up to you soon.”
Fans Still Eager for the Film’s Release
Despite the disappointment surrounding the event, the excitement for Devara remains sky-high. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, promises to be a major release, with fans eager to see Jr NTR back on the big screen after a long hiatus. With a star-studded cast and a gripping trailer, Devara is poised to be one of the biggest films of the year.
Though fans were unable to meet their favorite star in Hyderabad, the anticipation for the film’s release continues to grow. Devara is set to hit theaters later this year, and fans are eagerly counting down the days until they can finally see the film.
