Director Kabir Khan, known for his hit film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, recently shared insights about the potential for a sequel to the 2015 blockbuster. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Kabir emphasized that not every successful film requires a follow-up, and he has consistently held this belief throughout his career.
Not Every Blockbuster Needs a Sequel
Kabir Khan made it clear that he is a firm believer in creating sequels only when there is a compelling story to tell. He stated, “Absolutely not. I am the first person to say that not every blockbuster film needs a sequel. That is why I have not made sequels in my film career.” Kabir has been approached multiple times to create sequels for his popular films, but he has always been cautious about doing so.
A Sequel Needs a Worthy Story
Kabir emphasized that a sequel should only be made if a strong story emerges that can carry the original film’s narrative forward. He said, “A sequel should be made only when you find a story that is worthy of taking that story forward.” This sentiment reflects his commitment to maintaining the integrity of his films rather than simply capitalizing on their commercial success.

Then I would love to do it. But, not just because it is one of the most successful films in the industry, it needs a sequel.”
