After the grand success of the epic Ramayana, Mukesh Kumar Singh, who is famous for directing Mahabharata on TV, is now gearing up to bring the timeless story to the big screen. The ambitious project will be made in three parts and is expected to take audiences on an unforgettable cinematic journey. Mukesh, who has always been passionate about Hindu mythology, is ready to give this epic the treatment it deserves.
Mukesh Kumar Singh recently opened up about his plans for the Mahabharata project and shared that making the TV version was one of the highlights of his career. “Directing Mahabharata on television was like a dream come true for me. It was a project that made a lasting impact not only on me but on everyone who worked on it. We recently had a reunion after 10 years, and the memories of working on that show are still fresh in my heart,” he said.
Three-Part Film to Capture the Epic Saga
Mukesh revealed that Mahabharata is too vast to fit into a single movie, which is why he has decided to break it into three parts. He explained, “Sequels have become a trend now, and Mahabharata is a saga that needs to be told in parts. The story is enormous, with so many characters and layers, that it’s impossible to show everything in just one film. The production will begin next October, and I’m already planning ahead to make this as epic as possible.”
One thing Mukesh is particular about is the casting. He said that he doesn’t want the actors to overshadow the iconic characters they will play. “I want to bring in actors who are fully dedicated to this project, who can become one with their roles and stay true to the essence of Mahabharata,” he shared.
Working on Kannappa and the Star Cast
Mukesh is also working on the much-awaited film Kannappa, which features some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, like Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Mohanlal, and R Sarathkumar. Talking about working with such stars, Mukesh said, “It’s been a great learning experience for me. These actors have achieved so much in their careers, but they are still humble and hardworking. They came prepared and were deeply invested in their roles, which inspired me to give my best.”
From TV to the Big Screen
Mukesh has directed several popular TV shows, and he shared how his experience on TV helped him make a smooth transition to films. He explained, “The biggest difference between TV and films is the mindset. On TV, I often have more time to prepare and maintain the quality of the show. This approach has made it easier for me to work in films. I work for a few months, then take a break, and come back refreshed.”
Fans of mythology and epic tales are eagerly waiting to see Mukesh Kumar Singh’s vision of Mahabharata come to life on the big screen. With production set to begin soon, excitement is building up for this grand adaptation of one of India’s greatest stories.
