Bollywood veteran Manoj Bajpayee, who recently received the National Film Award (Special Mention) for Gulmohar, has sold one of his luxurious properties in Mumbai. The 55-year-old actor, known for his powerful performances across 100 films, has reportedly sold his apartment for Rs 9 crore. He initially purchased the property in 2013 with his wife, Shabana Bajpayee, for Rs 6.4 crore, making a profit of Rs 2.6 crore after 11 years.
Apartment Details
The apartment is located in the prestigious Minerva Mahalaxmi Tower in Mumbai. It spans 1,247 square feet of carpet area, offering a spacious living environment. Bajpayee and his wife bought the property by paying a stamp duty of Rs 54 lakh, with the house being officially registered in August this year.
Current Residence
Manoj Bajpayee currently resides in Lokhandwala, Andheri, with his wife and daughter. The family has lived there for several years, suggesting that the Mahalaxmi Tower apartment was likely purchased as a property investment.
Struggling Days in Mumbai
In an earlier interview with Curly Tales, Bajpayee shared memories of his early days in Mumbai, when he lived in a chawl in DN Nagar with 10 other people. During that time, money was tight, and the actor, who made his Bollywood debut with Drohkaal in 1994, had to share a small space with others struggling to make it in the industry.
A Shared Journey with Tigmanshu Dhulia
Among those 10 roommates was Tigmanshu Dhulia, now a well-known writer-director. The two shared not just living space but also the struggles of their early careers in the film industry.
Upcoming Projects
Apart from his recent film Bhaiya Ji, which he also produced but unfortunately did not perform well at the box office, Bajpayee has been active on the OTT platform. He was recently seen in Silence 2 and is currently working on the much-anticipated third season of the web series The Family Man. The shooting for this project is currently underway.
