Rakul Preet Singh’s Sudden Exit from Prabhas’ Film
Rakul Preet Singh, one of the leading actresses in both Bollywood and South Indian cinema, has faced her share of struggles in the film industry. Recently, during an interview, Rakul opened up about some surprising incidents in her career. The actress revealed how she was replaced from two major films overnight, one of which was alongside superstar Prabhas. Despite having completed four days of shooting, Rakul was removed from the project without any prior notice.
“I Was Replaced After Four Days of Shooting”
Rakul shared her story on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, where she talked about her early days in the film industry. She revealed that she had completed four days of shooting for a Telugu film with Prabhas, but was suddenly replaced without any explanation.
The actress said, “I had no idea about how the industry worked back then. When I was removed from the film, I thought, ‘Oh well, maybe it wasn’t meant for me.’ I didn’t take it to heart because I was too naïve at that time. There’s a certain innocence that protects you from negativity when you don’t fully understand what’s going on.”
Innocence Helped Her Move Forward
Rakul admitted that being unaware of the inner workings of the industry helped her remain positive. “When you’re new and innocent, people around you might try to fill your head with doubts and negativity, but I didn’t have anyone telling me these things. My naivety kept me from overthinking the situation, and I just moved on,” she said.
Replaced Without a Word: No Explanation Given
Speaking further about her removal from the Prabhas film, Rakul revealed that she wasn’t even informed about being replaced. “I found out later that the producer felt that the movie was on a bigger scale and wanted to cast a more popular actress. No one told me anything at the time, and I only learned about it after I had returned to Delhi post my shooting schedule,” she added.
Facing Rumors and Doubts After Another Replacement
Rakul Preet Singh didn’t face this disappointment only once. In fact, it happened again in another big project. Although she hadn’t started shooting, she had already signed the film when she was replaced. This created a series of rumors, as people began questioning her professionalism.
“When you get replaced from two major films, people start talking. They start wondering if you have an attitude problem or if you can’t act. These rumors made things even more challenging for me. I knew I wasn’t going to get that big break easily. I had to work my way up,” Rakul shared.
Losing MS Dhoni Biopic Due to Date Issues
Rakul also revealed that she was initially cast in the MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. However, she had to let go of the role due to date conflicts. The role later went to Disha Patani.
“I was all set for the role. I had completed the costume trials and script readings. But then, the shooting dates were delayed by a month, and I was already committed to another film with Ram Charan and Jr NTR. That film was Bruce Lee: The Fighter, and we still had two songs left to shoot. Since the release date was nearing, I couldn’t balance both films,” she explained.
Crying Over Missed Opportunity in Dhoni Biopic
Missing out on such a significant film was not easy for Rakul. In the interview, she admitted that she was deeply upset after losing the opportunity to be a part of the MS Dhoni biopic.
“Yes, I cried when I had to drop out. It was such a great project, and I really wanted to be a part of it. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, I had to walk away. But that’s how the industry works sometimes. You win some, you lose some,” she said emotionally.
No Bitterness, Only Growth
Despite these setbacks, Rakul has always maintained a positive outlook on her career. She believes that every rejection has taught her something valuable. “You just have to keep moving forward. There will always be challenges, but you learn and grow from every experience,” she concluded.
Rakul Preet Singh has now become a household name with a successful career in both Bollywood and South cinema. Her determination and resilience have made her a role model for many aspiring actors in the industry.
