In the latest real estate news from Bollywood, director Sajid Khan has sold his luxurious apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Juhu area for ₹6.1 crore. The property, located in the Beach House Co-operative Housing Society, spans 2,176 square feet and includes a parking space of 220 square feet. The transaction was finalized in June this year, incurring a stamp duty of ₹36.6 lakh and a registration fee of ₹30,000, according to documents obtained by Square Yards.
Sajid Khan, who gained recent visibility as a participant in the reality show Bigg Boss 16, began his career in the film industry in 1995 as the host of the TV show Main Bhi Detective. He made his directorial debut with the 2006 anthology film Darna Zaroori Hai, where he directed one of the segments. Khan is best known for directing the successful Housefull series, as well as Heyy Baby (2007) and Humshakals (2014). He has also served as a judge on the popular reality TV show Nach Baliye.
Bollywood’s Real Estate Moves: A Growing Trend
Sajid Khan’s recent sale is part of a larger trend of real estate activity among Bollywood celebrities in Mumbai. Just recently, actress Kangana Ranaut made headlines when she sold her Bandra office for ₹40 crore and purchased a new space in Andheri for ₹1.5 crore. The Mumbai real estate market has seen several high-profile transactions this year, highlighting the city’s appeal to the entertainment industry.
In August 2024, actor Kartik Aaryan rented an apartment in Juhu for a hefty sum of ₹4.5 lakh per month. Similarly, Bollywood stars like Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Ajay Devgan have made significant investments in commercial real estate across Mumbai, solidifying the city’s status as a prime location for both residential and commercial properties.
As the real estate landscape in Mumbai continues to attract big names from the film industry, these transactions underscore the ongoing trend of celebrities investing in prime properties, further driving the city’s property market.
