In a surprising development in the Salman Khan firing case, one of the accused, Harpal Singh, has made serious allegations about the conditions inside Taloja Jail. Singh, who was arrested in connection with the shootout outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in April, claimed that a jail doctor demanded a bribe for medical treatment. Singh has been suffering from a finger injury for the past eight months and alleged that despite repeated requests, no proper treatment was given.
Court Orders Investigation into Alleged Corruption in Jail
Singh’s statement was made during a court appearance through video link before Judge BD Shelke of the MCOCA special court in Mumbai. He alleged that a jail doctor asked for Rs 10,000 to refer him to a hospital for treatment of his broken finger. In response to these allegations, the court ordered an inquiry into the matter and asked the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Taloja Jail to submit a report by October 7. Additionally, the court instructed jail authorities to ensure that Singh receives the necessary medical care.
Shootout Outside Salman Khan’s Home Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
The shooting outside Salman Khan’s residence on April 14 was linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Two individuals on a motorcycle reportedly fired five rounds outside the actor’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. Following the incident, six people were arrested, including Harpal Singh, who has now accused jail officials of neglect.
Another Accused in the Case Commits Suicide
The case took another tragic turn when one of the accused, Anuj Thapan, who was also involved in the same shooting, reportedly committed suicide inside the jail. Thapan was found hanging from a window in his lockup, having used a sheet to take his own life. After this incident, the CID took over the investigation, and the circumstances around his death remain under scrutiny.
With these new developments, the Salman Khan firing case has taken a darker turn, raising questions about jail conditions and treatment of inmates, as well as the broader investigation into the shooting incident.
