Actor Vijay Raaz, who was initially cast in Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited film Son of Sardar 2, has reportedly been removed from the project. The film’s shooting, currently underway in the United Kingdom, has faced an unexpected hurdle due to Vijay Raaz’s alleged unprofessional behavior on set. However, the actor has denied these claims, sparking a controversy that has caught the attention of many. Here’s what led to his removal and what the film’s co-producer, Kumar Mangat Pathak, had to say.
The Allegations Against Vijay Raaz
According to reports, Vijay Raaz’s removal from Son of Sardar 2 stemmed from his inappropriate behavior on set. Co-producer Kumar Mangat Pathak confirmed to Pinkvilla that the decision to remove Raaz was due to his continuous and unreasonable demands. He explained that Raaz had been asking for larger rooms, premium suites, and even demanded two cars for just three staff members. Mangat pointed out that while the UK is an expensive place, the crew had already provided good accommodations for everyone, but Raaz’s requests kept escalating.
Misbehavior on Set
Mangat further elaborated that Raaz’s behavior became increasingly difficult to manage. When the crew tried to discuss the high costs of his demands, Raaz reportedly responded rudely, saying, “You people approached me; I didn’t come asking for work.” Despite the crew’s efforts to meet his needs, Raaz’s demands didn’t cease, leading to his eventual removal from the film. Mangat emphasized that the decision was made after numerous discussions, and Raaz’s behavior was deemed unprofessional and disruptive.

Vijay Raaz’s Side of the Story
In response to these allegations, Vijay Raaz shared a different account of events. He told Pinkvilla that he was removed from the film within 30 minutes of arriving on set. According to Raaz, the only issue was that he didn’t greet Ajay Devgn when he first saw him, as he was busy speaking with other crew members. Raaz firmly denied any misbehavior, stating that his removal was solely due to this perceived slight.
Raaz also addressed the accusations regarding his demands for a larger room, explaining that the room provided to him was too small for his needs, especially since he practices yoga daily and needed more space. He questioned whether, after 26 years in the industry, he couldn’t even ask for a comfortable space to stay.
Co-Producer’s Rebuttal
Kumar Mangat Pathak countered Raaz’s claims, stating that the actor’s removal had nothing to do with not greeting Ajay Devgn. Instead, it was due to his never-ending demands and rude behavior towards the crew. Mangat highlighted that the decision to remove Raaz was made after careful consideration, and it was crucial to prevent potential problems on set. He pointed out that Ajay Devgn had worked with many senior actors in the past without any issues, making Raaz’s behavior all the more unacceptable.
Mangat also mentioned that Raaz had even requested a vanity van similar to the one provided to Ajay Devgn, which further strained the situation. After discussing the matter with Ajay, the decision was made to remove Raaz from the project. Mangat clarified that the removal was based on Raaz’s unreasonable demands and unprofessional conduct, not because he didn’t greet Ajay Devgn.
Sanjay Mishra Replaces Vijay Raaz
Following Vijay Raaz’s departure from Son of Sardar 2, actor Sanjay Mishra has been brought on board to fill the role. The film, which has been eagerly anticipated by fans, will continue its production with this new casting change.
