Popular singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, who was away from the music industry for a long time due to health issues, is back in the spotlight. Currently, Honey Singh is busy promoting his latest album ‘Glory.’ During his promotions, he has been sharing stories about his life and career, and he says that he is now a changed man. Honey Singh is even calling some of his old hit songs ‘rubbish’ and laughing at his own creations.
Honey Singh’s Honest Take on His Songs
In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Honey Singh opened up about his past songs, especially the hit song “Sunny Sunny” from the movie ‘Yaariyan.’ Honey revealed that he made this song in just two hours, including the music and recording. Talking about the song, he said, “After the song ‘Lungi Dance’ became a hit, T-Series asked me to make another song like that. I said no, it is blue, and you will get water.” He continued, “The stupidest song I have written in my life is ‘Blue Hai Paani Paani.’ Is this some song? Aaj blue hai paani paani aur din bhi sunny sunny. Is this some song? This is rubbish.”
Honey Singh admitted that these songs don’t have much meaning, but they still became very popular. He laughed at the simplicity and silliness of these songs, saying they had no real sense or direction but still managed to become hits.
Songs That Still Rule the Charts
The song “Sunny Sunny,” sung by Honey Singh and Neha Kakkar, became a sensation when it was released in 2014. It was played at every party and wedding, becoming an anthem for many. On YouTube, the full version of the song has been viewed more than 39 crore times, while the short version has over 3 crore views on the T-Series channel. Despite his criticism, these songs still generate revenue, and Honey Singh admits that they continue to be played everywhere.
Honey Singh Laughs at Himself
During the interview, Honey Singh also talked about other popular songs like “Lungi Dance” and “Party All Night.” He said, “Lungi dance, lungi dance… what nonsense is this. I don’t know. Party all night, party all night… we do party all night… just like that, I don’t know what I was doing. And people were pampering me.” Honey Singh confessed that he laughs at himself when he performs these songs today because they were so different and quirky. He noted that although the songs were silly, their fresh sound and style made them hits.
