Recently, rumors spread across social media claiming that Goa, Ratan Tata’s beloved dog, had died just three days after the passing of the renowned industrialist. The fake message, which circulated on WhatsApp, claimed that the loyal dog passed away soon after its owner. However, these rumors were swiftly dismissed as false by Mumbai Police Senior Inspector Sudhir Kudalkar.
Inspector Sudhir reached out to Shantanu Naidu, a close friend of Ratan Tata, to verify the news. Shantanu confirmed that the dog was perfectly fine and urged people not to believe the misleading messages being shared. Inspector Sudhir took to Instagram to clear up the confusion, posting a reel with the message that the viral news about Goa’s death was entirely false. His caption encouraged people to verify facts before sharing unverified information.
Ratan Tata’s Deep Love for Dogs
Ratan Tata, a well-known animal lover, was deeply attached to his dogs, including Goa, who interestingly became part of his life. Goa, a stray dog that Ratan Tata encountered during a visit to the coastal state, had followed him around. Moved by the bond, Tata decided to adopt the dog and brought it to Bombay House, the headquarters of the Tata Group. For over 11 years, Goa lived happily alongside other dogs and animals that found shelter at Bombay House.
Tata’s love for animals extended beyond just his pets. He was well known for his efforts to care for stray animals in Mumbai, providing them with shelter and protection, especially during the rainy season when they often hid under cars for warmth.
A Legacy of Compassion
Ratan Tata’s relationship with dogs is just one reflection of his compassionate nature. There are many stories of how his love for animals influenced his life decisions. For instance, in 2018, Tata was scheduled to receive a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the British Royal Family. However, despite his initial plans to attend, he chose to remain at home to take care of his sick dog. When asked about it, Tata remarked that his dog Tango was unwell, and he couldn’t bring himself to leave him alone.
The bond between Tata and his dogs remained a core part of his life, demonstrating his deep love for animals, which went beyond material wealth or accolades. While rumors about Goa’s passing may have caused momentary confusion, the truth is that Goa continues to live happily under the care of Tata’s team, just as his late owner would have wanted.
