Chandigarh: Haryana is all set to witness the swearing-in ceremony of its new Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, as the BJP celebrates a historic third consecutive term in the state. Saini, who will take oath as CM for the second time, has declared assets worth Rs 72.68 lakh in movable property and Rs 4.85 crore in immovable assets, as per his election affidavit.
Saini, 54, has close ties with the RSS and has been a prominent figure in Haryana’s political scene. His affidavit submitted during the recent assembly elections details that he holds Rs 1.75 lakh in cash, while his wife has Rs 1.40 lakh. The Chief Minister also owns three Toyota cars, including two Innova models.
In addition to this, Saini’s property portfolio includes agricultural land and a residential building in his native village. However, his financial liabilities are also substantial, with debts totaling Rs 74.82 lakh.
Prime Minister Modi to Attend Oath Ceremony
The swearing-in ceremony will be a grand event, with around 50,000 attendees expected. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and top BJP leadership will be present to witness Saini’s second term as CM.
After being unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party, Saini met Governor Bandaru Dattatreya to stake his claim for forming the government.
BJP’s Hat-Trick Victory in Haryana
In the October 5 assembly elections, BJP secured 48 seats out of 90, marking its third consecutive term in Haryana. The opposition Congress managed to win 37 seats, but it wasn’t enough to stop BJP’s hat-trick victory.
