Jhumri Talaiya, Jharkhand: The 16th season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC), hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, continues to inspire millions across India. This iconic quiz show, synonymous with hope and the power of knowledge, once again brought to the forefront a remarkable contestant whose story has touched the hearts of many. Vaishnavi Bharti, a 21-year-old from Jhumri Talaiya, Jharkhand, has emerged as a beacon of determination and resilience on the KBC stage.
Vaishnavi, who is currently preparing for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination, shared her incredible journey of overcoming financial hardships to pursue her dreams. With a master’s degree in Political Science, she balances her academic ambitions with the responsibilities of managing her household alongside her father, Vivekanand. Vaishnavi’s mother passed away, leaving her and her father to fend for themselves, a task Vaishnavi has taken on with grace and determination.
During her appearance on KBC, Vaishnavi’s story and passion for education left Amitabh Bachchan visibly moved. He was impressed not only by her dedication to her studies but also by the way she manages her household duties in the face of adversity. Vaishnavi shared that her father has been her strongest pillar of support, encouraging her to chase her dreams despite societal expectations that often limit a girl’s role to household chores. In their eyes, Vaishnavi is the ‘Ghar Ki Laxmi,’ the one who binds their family together.
The momentous occasion for Vaishnavi came when she revealed that the money she won on KBC was her first ever earning. She dedicated this cheque to her father, Vivekanand, who expressed his pride and gratitude, stating, “This is my daughter’s first salary, and I thank God every day for blessing us with a daughter like Vaishnavi.”
For Vaishnavi, being on the hot seat of KBC was nothing short of a dream come true. She expressed her deep gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “Kaun Banega Crorepati has opened doors for many across the country, offering a chance to change lives with the power of knowledge. I am thrilled to have had this opportunity to improve the financial situation for myself and my family.”
Vaishnavi has big plans for her winnings. She intends to use the money to repair her house, ensuring a better living environment for her family. Additionally, she plans to secure medical insurance for her father, safeguarding their future. The remaining amount will be invested in her preparation for competitive exams, which she hopes will eventually lead to a secure government job.
‘Kaun Banega Crorepati – Season 16’ continues to air every Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony TV and is also available for streaming on Sony Liv, keeping millions of viewers across India glued to their screens as more stories like Vaishnavi’s unfold.
