Pune: The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) is set to bring a new level of excitement to motorsports with an IPL-style auction in its second season. A total of 145 riders from across the globe have registered for the league, making it a grand spectacle in the world of supercross racing. Riders from countries like the United States, Spain, France, Germany, Sweden, South Africa, Australia, Thailand, and Indonesia will join their Indian counterparts in this thrilling event.
The auction, inspired by the format of the Indian Premier League, will see teams bidding on some of the biggest names in the sport. The excitement surrounding the auction is palpable, especially after the overwhelming success of ISRL’s debut season, which saw packed stadiums and a surge in interest from Indian riders.
ISRL co-founder and director, Ishan Lokhande, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “The energy among the riders is incredible. We are witnessing a new era in Indian motorsports. ISRL is not only showcasing international talent but also paving the way for the growth of supercross in India. Our aim is to elevate the sport and provide fans with an unforgettable experience.”
This season will see the return of established stars like 9-time Australian Champion Matt Moss, MXoN World Champion Jordi Tixier, and Asia Motocross Champion Thanarat Penjan. New faces such as AMA Pro Motocross Champion Mike Alessi and French Supercross Champion Greg Aranda will also be joining, adding more excitement to the competition. Indian riders, including 3-time Indian Supercross Champion Ragweed Barguje and Shlok Ghorpade, are ready to showcase their talent on this grand stage.
