New Delhi: England’s star cricketer and limited-overs captain, Jos Buttler, will not participate in the upcoming T20 series against Australia. He has suffered an injury that is forcing him to stay out of the three-match series starting on September 11. There is also a possibility that Buttler might miss the ODI series against Australia, which begins on September 19.
In Buttler’s absence, Phil Salt has been appointed as the captain for the T20 series. Additionally, Jamie Overton has been included in the T20 squad to replace Buttler. Meanwhile, Jordan Cox has been named as a backup in the ODI team, should Buttler remain unfit for the 50-over series.
The T20 series will kick off on Wednesday with matches scheduled at three venues: Utility Ball, Sophia Gardens, and Old Trafford. This series is highly anticipated as both teams are gearing up for the upcoming ICC tournaments.
