19-year-old Musheer Khan made a big splash in domestic cricket by scoring a stunning 181 runs in his debut match of the Duleep Trophy 2024. Playing for India B at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Musheer’s knock came off 373 balls. This innings placed him in an elite list of debut performances in the Duleep Trophy, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s 159-run debut score. Musheer now holds the third-highest score by a debutant in the Duleep Trophy, with Baba Aparajit leading the list with 212 runs, followed by Yash Dhull’s 193 runs.
Six Lands on the Roof of the Stadium
One of the most thrilling moments of Musheer’s innings came during the 111th over when he faced Kuldeep Yadav, the experienced left-arm spinner. Musheer went on the offensive and launched a massive shot, sending the ball onto the roof of the stadium. The Chinnaswamy Stadium, known for its short boundaries, has seen many T20 stars hit big sixes, but this was a special one in the context of first-class cricket.

Missed Double Century by 19 Runs
Despite his incredible innings, Musheer fell just 19 runs short of a double century. After smashing the ball to the roof, Musheer attempted another big shot on the next delivery but misjudged it. His dismissal brought an end to a strong 99-run partnership with Navdeep Saini, who also played a crucial role with a gritty 56 off 144 balls.
