India secured a dominant 133-run victory over Bangladesh in the final T20 match at Hyderabad, completing a 3-0 series sweep. Sanju Samson emerged as the star of the match with his first T20 International century, while captain Suryakumar Yadav continued his explosive form. The win not only wrapped up the T20 series but also extended India’s clean sweep across both formats, as they had previously won the two-match Test series 2-0.
India’s Massive Total Led by Samson and Suryakumar
After winning the toss, captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to bat first. Despite an early setback with opener Abhishek Sharma dismissed for just 4 runs, the duo of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav took control of the innings. Together, they stitched a remarkable 173-run partnership for the second wicket.
Sanju Samson smashed a breathtaking 111 runs from 47 balls, including 11 fours and 8 sixes. His century became the second-fastest by an Indian in T20Is, following Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball hundred. Captain Suryakumar contributed 75 runs off 35 balls, hitting 8 fours and 5 sixes in his knock.
Towards the end, Hardik Pandya (47 off 18 balls) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13 balls) finished with a flourish, taking India to a record total of 297/6—their highest-ever score in T20Is and the second-highest score in T20 cricket history.
Bangladesh Struggles in Chase
Chasing a target of 298 runs, Bangladesh faced trouble early on as Mayank Yadav removed opener Parvez Hussain Emon on the very first ball of the innings. Bangladesh’s top order collapsed quickly, leaving them struggling at 59/3 within the powerplay.
Liton Das (42 off 25 balls) and Tauheed Hriday (65* off 39 balls) tried to rebuild with a 53-run partnership, but it was not enough to change the course of the match. Mahmudullah, playing his last T20I, managed just 8 runs before being dismissed.
Bangladesh ended their innings at 164/7, falling short by 133 runs. Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Yadav were the standout bowlers for India, taking 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
Records Galore in India’s Win
India’s score of 297/6 is now their highest in T20 Internationals, surpassing their previous best of 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017. The total also makes India the second-highest team scorer in T20 cricket history, only behind Nepal’s 314 against Mongolia.
Sanju Samson’s 111-run knock earned him the spotlight as he became the second-fastest Indian to score a T20I century. His blistering innings, combined with Suryakumar Yadav’s aggressive batting, ensured India’s dominance throughout the match and series.
