Palak Sindhwani, who played the role of Sonu Bhide in the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has officially announced her exit from the show after nearly five years. Her sudden departure has stirred up a controversy, with Palak making serious allegations against the show’s makers. According to the actress, the production team has harassed her mentally, leading her to suffer panic attacks.
Palak’s Allegations Against the Makers
In a recent interview with Times of India, Palak claimed that she was being pressured by the show’s producers to disclose her brand endorsements and payments. She expressed her shock over the situation, stating that such demands had never been made in the last five years, but only arose after she decided to leave the show.
Palak revealed, “They not only threatened me but also asked me to provide details about the brands I had worked with and the money I earned from them. I found it surprising because none of this had ever been an issue before. It all started once I made it clear that I wanted to quit the show.”
Panic Attacks and Legal Threats
The situation took a serious turn when Palak began experiencing panic attacks due to the constant pressure from the production team. She shared that, despite her requests for a break, she was forced to work long hours, further deteriorating her mental and physical health.
Palak said, “I had asked for an official email ID to submit my resignation, but instead, they sent me a legal notice on the same day, demanding compensation for their supposed loss. This has caused me significant stress and panic attacks.”
She further explained that she had never faced any disputes or legal issues in the five years of working on the show. However, after announcing her exit, the production team allegedly sent her legal threats to intimidate her. Palak added, “They refused to give me time off despite submitting medical reports. Instead, I was asked to continue shooting for 12 hours a day.”
Mental Health Impact and Work Conditions
Palak’s revelations highlight the challenging work environment she faced during her final days on the show. She disclosed that she was still shooting for the show while dealing with multiple health issues. Despite her requests for a break, she continued working long shifts, which further worsened her mental health condition.
The actress noted that she remains stuck on the set for hours and is unable to respond to the legal notice appropriately due to her demanding work schedule.
