Popular TV actress Deepika Kakkar recently got candid about her personal life in an interview on Nayan Rakshit’s YouTube channel. Known for her roles in shows like Sasural Simar Ka and her stint on Celebrity MasterChef, Deepika spoke about the highs and lows she has faced. From her parents’ divorce to her own failed first marriage, trolling, miscarriage, and the joys of motherhood, she shared how her family stood by her through it all.
Deepika, who took a break from acting after her marriage to Shoaib Ibrahim and the birth of their son Ruhaan, returned to the spotlight with Celebrity MasterChef. But behind her on-screen smile lies a story of resilience. She revealed how her tough childhood shaped her and how her parents, despite their broken marriage, never stopped supporting her.
“I salute my parents,” Deepika said. “Even though they had stopped talking to each other, they were always there for me. During my tough times, my wedding, and even my first show, both stood by me. Today, they live separately but are happy, and I talk to both equally.”
Shoaib’s Mother Became Her Rock After Divorce
Deepika’s first marriage to Raunak Samson ended in divorce in 2015, a time she described as painful. But her parents and later Shoaib’s family gave her the strength to move forward. She met Shoaib Ibrahim on the sets of Sasural Simar Ka, and what started as a friendship soon turned into love. After their marriage in 2018, Shoaib’s mother played a big role in helping her heal.
“When I got divorced, my parents were like a rock for me. Later, when I met Shoaib, his mother supported me too,” Deepika shared. “She was there even during my court hearings. Shoaib always told me to focus on my happiness, and that kept me going.”
Her bond with Shoaib’s family grew stronger over time. Deepika praised their equal treatment during her wedding in Maudaha, Shoaib’s hometown. “My parents didn’t have to do anything for the wedding. Shoaib’s family handled everything. They even gave my parents the best room to stay in, knowing their situation. That’s true equality,” she said.
Facing Trolls and False Rumours with Courage
Deepika didn’t shy away from addressing the trolling she has faced. From being called out for leaving a supposed daughter from her first marriage to rumours about her divorce from Shoaib, she has seen it all. She clarified that the story about abandoning a daughter is completely false.
“That rumour hurt me a lot,” she said. “I was pregnant with Ruhaan when it came up. I had already gone through a miscarriage before, and hearing such lies while expecting again was tough. No mother would ever think of doing that. Shoaib told me to ignore it, and I tried my best.”
The actress also spoke about the constant hate she gets online. “Some people can’t see me and my family happy. If I work, they have a problem. If I don’t, they say my mother-in-law is doing everything. They just want to find faults,” she added. Deepika believes her family’s genuine happiness is what bothers trolls the most.
The Emotional Rollercoaster of Motherhood
Deepika and Shoaib welcomed their son Ruhaan in June 2023, but her journey to motherhood wasn’t easy. After suffering a miscarriage, she faced severe postpartum struggles. “I had such bad postpartum flu, I can’t even explain it. Even now, I get irritable. My life revolves around Ruhaan—whether he’s okay or not is always on my mind,” she said.
She admitted to having mood swings and tough moments with Shoaib during this phase. “It was a really bad time for me. I’d cry, sit alone, and even wake Shoaib up at night after his rehearsals to fight. Once, I made him sleep on the couch. But he was always there, understanding me,” Deepika recalled.
Why Deepika Chose Family Over Career
After years in the TV industry, Deepika decided to step back from acting to focus on her family. She credits Shoaib’s family for filling the void she felt growing up in a broken home. “I always wanted a happy, loving house. I found that with Shoaib, his sister Saba, and his parents. They made me feel complete,” she said.
Her choice to be a homemaker has often been judged, but Deepika stands firm. “If I’m happy taking care of my family, why should anyone have a problem? People troll me no matter what I do. I’ve stopped caring now,” she explained.
A Message of Resilience and Love
Deepika’s story is one of overcoming challenges with the support of her loved ones. From her parents’ unwavering presence to Shoaib’s family welcoming her with open arms, she has found strength in relationships. Despite the trolls and rumours, she continues to live life on her terms, proving that happiness can shine through even the darkest times.
Her latest interview has struck a chord with fans, who admire her honesty and courage. As she balances motherhood and her return to TV, Deepika remains a symbol of grace under pressure, inspiring many with her journey.
