Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui recently found himself in a serious security situation after receiving death threats while in Delhi. On Sunday, September 15, authorities were alerted to potential threats against Munawar’s life, prompting immediate action to ensure his safety.
Threats Lead to Return to Mumbai
Munawar had arrived in Delhi to participate in a friendly cricket match with YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav. The match was scheduled to take place at the IGI Stadium as part of the Entertainers Cricket League, an ongoing event featuring popular online personalities like Abhishek Malhan, Sonu Sharma, Harsh Beniwal, and more. The cricket league began on September 13 and is set to continue until September 22.
However, on September 14, it was reported that shooters had scouted the Hotel Surya where both Munawar and Elvish were staying. Upon receiving this alarming input, the Delhi Police immediately tightened security at the stadium and temporarily halted the match. Following this, Munawar returned to Mumbai due to the serious nature of the threats.
Security Tightened at Cricket League Match
Despite the scare, the Delhi Police resumed the match after implementing enhanced security measures. Munawar, who had come to watch the match and support his fellow entertainers, chose to leave for Mumbai shortly after the incident. The authorities are yet to identify those responsible for the threats or the reason behind targeting the comedian.

On the professional front, Munawar Faruqui has been making strides in the entertainment world. He recently appeared on Urfi Javed’s series ‘Follow Kar Lo Yaar’ and also hosted a roast show alongside Urfi. The comedian continues to rise in popularity, having previously won the title of Bigg Boss 17.
