Mumbai: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), one of India’s longest-running television shows, is once again in the spotlight. Recently, rumors surfaced on social media suggesting that Sharad Sankla, the actor who plays the beloved character Abdul, had quit the show. These reports created a buzz among fans, leading to widespread speculation. However, Sharad Sankla has now addressed these rumors, setting the record straight.
Sharad Sankla Addresses Exit Rumors
In an exclusive interview with the Times of India, Sharad Sankla dismissed the reports of his departure from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He categorically stated that the news circulating online is completely false. “No, the news is absolutely false. I am not going anywhere and am still a part of the show,” Sharad clarified. He went on to explain that the current storyline doesn’t feature Abdul, but assured fans that the character will return soon. “It is part of the storyline. It is such a lovely and long-running show, and I am known for my role as Abdul. This is a big deal for me.”
Why the Rumors Started
The rumors about Sharad Sankla’s exit seem to have originated from the recent storyline of the show. In the plot, Abdul’s character temporarily disappears from Gokuldham Society, leading some viewers to believe that the actor had left the show. The storyline shows Abdul feeling hurt after the society members forget his birthday, prompting him to vanish. This disappearance sparked concern among the society members, as well as the show’s viewers, fueling speculation that Sharad Sankla had exited TMKOC.
