Chiyaan Vikram is all set to grace the big screen in director Pa Ranjith’s much-anticipated film Thangalan, slated for release on August 15. As part of the promotional activities, Vikram recently attended a press meet where he faced an unexpected question about his fan following compared to that of Kollywood stars Ajith Kumar and Surya.
Vikram’s Response to Fan Comparison
During a press conference in Madurai, a reporter asked Vikram, “It seems that you do not have as many fans as Ajith or Surya!” The question caught everyone’s attention, but Vikram’s response was quick and confident. He replied, “This is because you do not know anything about my fans. Just come to the theatre and see for yourself.” His answer was met with laughter from those present, as it clearly highlighted the actor’s confidence in his loyal fan base.
Not About Being a ‘Top Hero’
The questioning didn’t stop there. The reporter further claimed that Vikram doesn’t hold the status of being one of the “top three leading heroes” in Kollywood. To this, Vikram calmly responded, “Being in the list of top heroes is not necessary. It is the audience that matters. I know how to make films like Dhool and Saamy. I have given my best for Thangalan. As far as I am concerned, everyone is my fan in some way or the other.”
About Vikram’s Upcoming Movie ‘Thangalan’
Vikram’s upcoming movie Thangalan, directed by Pa Ranjith, is based on the historical Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). In the film, Vikram portrays a tribal leader who stands up against the British Raj to protect his land. The film also features Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Daniel Caltagirone in key roles.
