South Indian actor Prakash Raj, known for his versatile roles and villainous characters, has landed in a controversy after allegedly walking off a movie set without informing the crew. This move has reportedly caused a financial loss of Rs 1 crore, according to film producer Vinod Kumar, who took to social media to voice his frustrations.
In a series of social media posts, Vinod Kumar expressed his disappointment with Prakash Raj’s sudden exit, claiming that the actor’s actions disrupted the shooting schedule. According to Vinod, the incident occurred on September 30, 2024, during a crucial 4-day shoot. The sudden disappearance of the actor left not only the production team but also the 1000 junior artists present on the set in shock.
Producer Vinod Kumar Alleges Major Financial Loss
Vinod Kumar stated in his post, “We were in the middle of a 4-day shoot, with 1000 junior artists and the entire cast present. Prakash Raj left the set without informing anyone. We had to halt the schedule, which caused us a significant loss of Rs 1 crore.” He further explained that Prakash Raj had reportedly left after receiving a call from another production, abandoning the ongoing shoot without any prior notice.
This is not the first time Vinod and Prakash have worked together. They previously collaborated on the 2021 Tamil film Enemy, which starred Vishal and Mrinalini Ravi in the lead roles. However, Vinod’s latest accusations suggest a serious breach of professionalism on Prakash Raj’s part.
Social Media Tension Escalates
Vinod Kumar also took a dig at Prakash Raj’s recent political debates, mentioning the actor’s social media spat with Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Prakash Raj had previously engaged in a heated online exchange with the Deputy CM over the Tirupati laddu controversy, urging for stricter action on the matter.
In his post, Vinod added, “The other three personalities sitting with you have won the elections, but you lost the deposit. That’s the difference.” He implied that while others in the industry were succeeding, Prakash Raj’s erratic behavior was damaging not only to productions but also his own reputation.
Prakash Raj Yet to Respond
Despite the serious allegations, Prakash Raj has yet to respond publicly. His silence has further fueled speculation and concern within the industry. The actor, who was recently seen in Devara: Part 1, starring Jr NTR, has a number of high-profile projects lined up, including Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule and Ram Charan’s Game Changer.
As fans and industry insiders await Prakash Raj’s response, the controversy continues to stir discussions about professionalism and the challenges faced by film producers in the industry.
